Here are the top three stories today in Albuquerque:
- The case against Mario Perez, 49-years-old, has been moved to the district court. Perez allegedly caused a school bus crash two months ago that left him in a wheelchair and leg braces. Nine students were taken to a local hospital for treatment due to the incident. (U.S. News & World Report)
- Mayor Tim Keller has vetoed a city council attempt to ban future vaccine mandates. According to the mayor, he vetoed the bill because he wants the council to remain flexible to ensure employee and community safety in the future. The veto will be discussed by the city council during its Monday meeting. (KRQE News 13)
- Albuquerque's oldest cemetery was cleaned by dozens of volunteers on Saturday morning. Historic Fairview Cemetery was cleared of trash and weeds. The cemetery has at least 500 veterans buried on its grounds. Next month, a tour will be hosted to raise funds for replacing fallen headstones and upkeep maintenance. (KRQE News 13)
