Here are the top three stories in Albuquerque today:

  1. The United State Fish and Wildlife Service managers have issued a new draft plan to manage the Mexican gray wolf population in the Albuquerque area. The plan seeks to spend millions of dollars over the coming decades to educate the community, increase law enforcement patrols, and conduct various projects meant to boost the species' population levels. The plan is reportedly necessary to address recent illegal killings of the endangered species. (KRQE News 13)
  2. Albuquerque's Gathering of Nations returns for its 39th celebration. The event will be in-person this year at the Tingley Coliseum Apr. 28 through Apr. 30. ABQ Ride buses will be advertising the event over the next couple of weeks with tickets available on the Gathering of Nations website for purchase. (KRQE News 13)
  3. City of Albuquerque officials are hopeful that the mobile speed enforcement project will increase public safety. The new project will begin issuing citations in late May with warnings being issued this next week. City Councilors will discuss a new automated speed enforcement fund during their next meeting.
