- A nearly 100-year old Albuquerque shop has been robbed of $75,000 worth of indigenous art. Palms Trading Company, which has been owned and operated by the same family since its opening 90 years ago, was broken into on Monday. Along with a number of expensive art pieces the shop had for sale, the robbers also took a giant Lorenzi turquoise bracelet, the family's prized possession of 50 years. (KOAT New Mexico)
- The City of Albuquerque is making a big investment in public art, announcing the finalists for its artist residency program. The program pairs up 18 local artists with 5 non-profit organizations and provides $2,500 of funding towards a project in or around the metro. The exhibits should be completed and shared by June 2023. (KRQE News 13)
- New York City-based Aquila Theatre is bringing contemporary versions of the classics to Popejoy Hall. In March, both The Great Gatsby and Macbeth are coming to Popejoy for back-to-back performances. The tour will visit 50-60 American cities besides Albuquerque before it wraps up completely.
