Here are the top stories in Albuquerque today:
- The season of giving is underway and a local nonprofit is making sure the less fortunate are being taken care of. Joy Junction runs the largest emergency homeless shelter in the state and volunteers served hundreds of meals to the hungry. (KOAT Albuquerque)
- The man who drove through the Balloon Fiesta has been charged with a DWI. Police video shoe the Albuquerque driver after he plowed through a traffic closure at Balloon Fiesta. Two public service aides and a police officer directing traffic were lucky to escape the ordeal without any major injuries. The driver had no remorse. (KRQE News 13)
- Albuquerque police have arrested a man, Josh Butler, who is accused of a fatal road rage shooting near Old Town early last month. Butler is charged with an open count of murder and tampering with evidence. He has been booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center and is accused of fatally shooting Nelson Gallegos Jr. in front of the Central Grill. (KOB)
