Local Credit Union Offers Financial Help to College Students
U.S. Eagle Credit Union to offer scholarships to three lucky students

All over the country, the cost of attending college is rising, and the students of New Mexico are no stranger to this problem.
With recent studies showing a 213% increase in tuition between 1988 and 2018, prospective (and even current) college students are struggling to find ways to reduce their student loan debt and pay for their classes.
In many cases, students are able to turn to scholarships for help. Particularly from local businesses and organizations, scholarships have long been a popular way to help reduce the overall cost of attending college and find yourself with less out-of-pocket expenses when graduation time rolls around and the student loan bills start piling up.

Students in New Mexico are no stranger to the costs of college, both in their home state and elsewhere. With that in mind, local credit union U.S. Eagle has opened up a scholarship with several opportunities for local students to try and earn a little extra money towards their college expenses.
The US Eagle 2019 Scholarship is open to all students either currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited two- or four-year university, or students planning on attending one beginning in the Fall 2019 semester. Interested students are to pick a question from three provided prompts and write an essay or film a short video explaining their answers. The topics range from the future of banking to making a new commercial for U.S. Eagle, giving students a chance to flex their creative muscles (which could surely use a break after filling out all the paperwork that comes with attending college).

Students can follow the link above to enter. All entries must be received by March 18, 2019 to be eligible for the fall semester.
With this scholarship, U.S. Eagle hopes to give back to the community they call home and help take a little bit of the stress out of college for a few students.
Good luck to anyone interested, and good luck in college to all applicants!
