Local Credit Union Plans International Credit Union Day Events
Albuquerque credit union comes together to bring International Credit Union Day to their members and communities.

Credit unions in America have a long and storied history.
Over the last two centuries, credit unions have offered a more community-focused alternative to larger chain banks, encouraging cooperation and community participation while providing easier access to needed banking services and finances.
To commemorate this spirit of community involvement, credit unions all over the world come together to celebrate International Credit Union Day. Since 1948, the third Thursday in October has been marked as International Credit Union Day, a day to look back on the history of credit unions and reflect on the principles and spirit they bring to the communities they call home.

This year, on October 18th, local credit union U.S. Eagle will be bringing a series of unique International Credit Union day activities to their branches all throughout the greater Albuquerque area as a way of giving thanks to their members for the years of support.
The festivities start that morning at 11 AM at Berg Park in Farmington, NM, as U.S. Eagle teams up with the local Fuddruckers location to provide a free catered picnic in the park for all guests. U.S. Eagle will be on hand to provide information for prospective members and current members alike, and the event will run until 1 PM. More information can be found at the Facebook event page for the picnic.

Every individual U.S. Eagle branch will be participating in the fun as well. The branches located in Irving, Osuna, and Tennessee St in Albuquerque will be grilling hot dogs from 11 AM- 1 PM for all members and guests that day as well. The other U.S. Eagle locations in the greater Albuquerque area will be offering healthy snacks at each of their individual locations for all guests starting at 11 AM as well.
With these celebrations, U.S. Eagle hopes to bring the community spirit of International Credit Union Day to all their guests and instill a sense of ownership in their members - in keeping with the original idea behind credit unions.
