Here are the top three stories in Albuquerque today:

  1. On Saturday, a person was killed in a wrong-way crash on Unser Boulevard and Vista Alegre Street NW. Police are investigating after an officer witnessed the crash around 7 a.m. A white Ford F-150 crashed into a gold 1997 Toyota Camry. The male driver of the Toyota died due to the collision, and the female driver of the Ford sustained non-life-threatening injuries. (KOB 4)
  2. The city is close to renovating the old Lovelace Hospital before it becomes the Gateway Center, a resource for alleviating homelessness and housing insecurity. Employees at the facility will help individuals find stable housing and provide a safe place to live. (Subscription: Albuquerque Journal)
  3. Albuquerque resident Dalai Llama turned 27 on Friday. This one-eyed, brown llama belongs to owners Andrew Thomas, Kee Straits, and their daughter Sami. They hope the birthday will beat the world record for the oldest llama in captivity. The last set record was in 2020 by a llama named Rapper in Olympia, WA. Rapper was 26 years old.
