Local Restaurants to Help Celebrate Veterans Day
Restaurants, credit union come together to provide holiday meals for veterans & service members

Ask nearly any active servicemember, retired veteran, or first responder what the hardest part of the job is, and one of the most common answers will be “missing time with your family”.
Whether deployed overseas or on call, the demands of a job as a servicemember or community first responder can lead to a lot of missed opportunities and holidays with your children, friends, and loved ones. Holidays like Veterans Day and Memorial Day try to shed a light on these issues facing veterans and try to give thanks, but sometimes it isn’t enough to make up for things like a missed Thanksgiving dinner.
To help veterans, currently enlisted servicemembers, or any currently-employed first responder in the community of Albuquerque better enjoy the holidays with their families, two local restaurants have teamed up with a local credit union to provide a free holiday dinner on Sunday, November 11th for Memorial Day.

From 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Nick & Jimmy’s Restaurant and Bar and Mykonos Restaurant, both located in Albuquerque, will be offering a free turkey dinner for all active military personnel, veterans, or first responders this Sunday. These dinners will be offered in honor of all the servicemembers that have had to miss holidays due to their duties and to show gratitude for the sacrifices that military personnel and first responders have to make in the line of duty.
Children and families are welcome at these events to help make sure everyone has a good Veterans Day and a Thanksgiving to remember. Turnout is anticipated to be high, so show up when you can and get ready for an early holiday meal.
