First, today's weather:

Here are the top stories today in Albuquerque:

  1. There are less than three weeks until the 2021 local election across Albuquerque. Last night, three Albuquerque mayoral candidates discussed and debated crime and other issues facing the city. The election will also decide five Albuquerque City Council seats, four positions on the Albuquerque Public Schools Board of Education, a city soccer stadium bond, and other issues. The election is on Nov. 2 and expanded in-person early voting starts this Saturday.(Albuquerque Journal)
  2. For a second year, the Albuquerque Funny Fiesta will be hosting local and national comedians, from today, Oct. 15., through Oct. 23. The event features everything from stand-up comedy to film riffing, to improv and sketch comedy. The hybrid in-person and virtual festival features over a dozen shows, workshops, and events related to all things comedy, and starring big-name local and national talent. The events will take place at either The Box Performance or the Guild Cinema. (Albuquerque Journal)
  3. According to the governor's office, Albuquerque's indoor mask mandate will remain in place. The order was set to expire today. (KOB)
  4. A new mural in Albuquerque entitled "Mountain Top" by spray paint artist Noe Barnett celebrates Martin Luther King Jr. and other Civil Rights leaders. (KRQE News 13)
  5. The Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office has issued a Brittany Alert for a missing 21-year-old. Shara Pinder was last seen wearing a white shirt and blue jeans on Oct. 8 in the area of Eubank and Constitution. (KOB)
