The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Albuquerque.

Hey, people of Albuquerque! Erica Zenn here with the Wednesday edition of the Albuquerque Daily.

First, today's weather:

Mostly sunny. High: 50 Low: 31.

Here are the top stories in Albuquerque today:

  1. Four new Albuquerque Public Schools Board of Education members will be sworn in at a ceremony during the regular board meeting today at 5 p.m. The public is invited to watch the swearing-in ceremony virtually due to COVID-19. New members include Danielle Gonzales, representing District 3; Crystal Tapia-Romero, representing District 5; Josefina E. Domínguez, representing District 6; and Courtney I. Jackson, representing District 7. (Albuquerque Public Schools)
  2. It's now free to ride a bus in Albuquerque through at least the end of the year with the city's Zero-Fare pilot program. Everyone is able to ride for free on ABQ Ride, ART, and Sun Vans. (KRQE News 13)
  3. Albuquerque's freezing temps has left the majority of its shelters filled to capacity. City workers want people to know that there are more opportunities for those without a home to get warm about 20 miles outside of the city at Westside Emergency Housing Center. Buses can take people to the shelter who are in need. (KOB)
