One Albuquerque Fund Makes Major Donation To Homeless People

At Wednesday’s daily media briefing on the City’s response to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, Mayor Tim Keller focused on ways the public can step up to support one another and help the community get through this challenging time.

One Albuquerque Fund Board President Charles Ashley III announced that the Fund would be making an immediate $50,000 contribution to emergency housing to quickly move people experiencing homelessness off the streets.

“We are stepping up as One Albuquerque for those in our community who are the most vulnerable—people experiencing homelessness, seniors, parents living paycheck-to-paycheck,” said Mayor Tim Keller. “There are lots of ways to play a role in this response: volunteering, writing notes of support to others, or by donating to the One Albuquerque Fund to directly help those hardest-hit by the pandemic.” “The One Albuquerque Fund is really focused on the community’s biggest priorities, from homelessness to youth to public safety. As a Board we wanted to find a way to help with the coronavirus response as quickly as possible, so we are funding $50,000 in vouchers to house the homeless. This is a time for us to truly show the One Albuquerque spirit,” said One Albuquerque Fund Board President Charles Ashley III.
