- A convicted rapist could face over 12 years in prison after assaulting a woman. The 41-year-old man found a woman and her boyfriend panhandling on the 2700 block of Carlisle back in May 2020 and offered to buy them a motel room for the night and groceries. After dropping the boyfriend off at a Walmart to buy food, the now-convicted man sexually assaulted the woman who was left behind in the motel room. The victim called the police and the accused rapist then fled the scene. He was later arrested by the police. (KRQE News 13)
- A new housing project is in the works to provide more affordable rental options in Downtown Albuquerque. Plans are for a six-story apartment building with 200 small and affordable units with retail space on the first floor. Developers anticipate funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development will help cover the $30 million cost. (KOB)
- The city cut the ribbon on The Preventative Pet Care Clinic, a facility designed to make sure Albuquerque pets can get basic care, no matter what their owners can afford. (KRQE News 13)
