Here are the top stories in Albuquerque today:

  1. A pedestrian was killed in Albuquerque and Bernalillo County Sheriff's Officials continue to investigate. Though the vehicle left the scene of the crime, it was later found and a suspect was taken into custody. The driver is suspected of driving under the influence. (U.S. News & World Report)
  2. The city of Albuquerque is providing warm meals to students over winter break. The Department of Family and Community Services is offering free lunches for kids ages one to 18 at community centers in the city. Families are encouraged to call ahead to make sure that meals are available. (KRQE News 13)
  3. The Carver Family Farm was issued one of the first micro-business cannabis producer licenses in Albuquerque. They're expecting to open their business in April 2022. There are about 104 new businesses trying to get started in Albuquerque – from dispensaries to pot delivery companies. (KOB)
  4. The city of Albuquerque hosted its last community block party of the year in the Barelas Neighborhood on Saturday. Several businesses and city departments showed up at the event at the Barelas Community Center. They offered resources like emergency rental assistance and SNAP benefits. (KRQE News 13)
