Here are the top stories in Albuquerque today:

  1. Hundreds of students at the University of New Mexico have been disenrolled after they failed to provide proof of vaccination or apply for an exemption. Now, this weekend is their last chance to provide their proof before they are withdrawn from all their classes. So far no faculty have been let go over COVID vaccination status, but four staff members have been "involuntarily separated." (KOB)
  2. Business owners in Albuquerque's midtown area are speaking up about issues plaguing their properties. They took their concerns about homelessness to city council just last week. Meanwhile, the city's newest branch of the public safety department, Albuquerque Community Safety, is working to chip away at some of these issues. Responders have been to more than 500 calls since the branch's inception in early September. (KOB)
  3. A group of Albuquerque restaurants will be serving free meals for veterans, active duty military, first responders on their families this Veterans Day. (KOAT New Mexico)
  4. The Albuquerque Police Department arrested a man Saturday night for street racing while under the influence and later found out his license was previously revoked. (KRQE News 13)
  5. This year's turkey shortage is affecting Albuquerque, and it may leave you paying more to have one at your Thanksgiving table. (KOAT New Mexico)
