1. New Mexico Congresswoman and US Rep. Stansbury says she has tested positive for COVID-19. Stansbury is fully vaccinated, citing this a breakthrough case with mild respiratory symptoms. She is urging all New Mexicans to get vaccinated and take good care of one another. (Albuquerque Journal)
2. Across the state of New Mexico, counties are preparing for National Guard to come in as substitute teachers. This move is a part of the governor's Supporting Teachers and Families initiative, helping fill hundreds of vacancies in schools across the state. While this is just a short term solution to a problem in the state's education system, Superintendent Arsenio Romero is working to make these new substitutes supported parts of the community. (KOB)
3. An Albuquerque massage parlor employee was murdered Monday night. 18-year-old Jorge Rivera-Ramirez was seen spotted by surveillance footage attempting to rob victim Sihui Fang before a shootout occurred. Rivera-Ramirez has since been connected with a string of massage-parlor robberies in Albuquerque and has been arrested for Fang's murder. (KOAT New Mexico)
