While Albuquerque saw mostly minor street flooding, nearby counties like Mora reported water rescues, school damage, and a shift to virtual classes as officials monitor more expected rain.
   

• New Mexico child advocacy group seeks input on closing gaps (statenews.net) — Taos will host an October meeting where New Mexico Voices for Children asks local residents to help identify gaps in kids' health, education, and economic support services. The group's new Children's Roadmap shows many counties lack pediatricians, and they're using these Taos and statewide sessions to shape policy priorities for lawmakers in upcoming legislative sessions.
