NYC Weather: Hazardous Storm To Slam City, Forecasters Say
The National Weather Service is warning of a hazardous storm that could bring dangerous wind gusts and a slight risk of flooding.
NEW YORK — A hazardous weather alert has been issued for New York City with forecasters warning of heavy rains, strong winds and possible flooding.
The National Weather Service predicts heavy rainfall and wind gusts of up to 45 mph could hit Thursday with possible flooding in some tristate areas.
Forecasters warn everyone the winds will be strong enough to blow around unsecured objects, even take down trees and possibly power lines.

They're advising residents to tie down anything they may have outside to keep it from blowing away. Forecasters also say to be extra careful outdoors or when driving during the windstorm.

The wind advisory will expire at 8 p.m. The NWS says it could be extended, and even expanded for areas to the north and the east if conditions are right.
After the wind clears up the rain will still remain. The NWS says Friday will also see heavy rainfall and a low possibility for flooding will remain through at least Wednesday.

A 50 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 59. Windy, with a southeast wind 25 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph.
Thursday Night
A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 8pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Low around 54. Breezy, with a southeast wind 16 to 23 mph, with gusts as high as 37 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
Friday
Showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 2pm. High near 65. East wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Friday Night
Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 55. Northwest wind 6 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Mostly sunny, with a high near 66. Northwest wind around 15 mph.
