By Jeff Jacomowitz

A sea of purple shirts for "Family Fun Day" flooded Six Flags New England in Agawam on Sunday as staff and their families from four of Centers Health Care's Rhode Island nursing homes and rehabilitation facilities enjoyed the rides under the the warm sun and blue skies on a gorgeous typical summer day in Western Mass.

The company has 45 facilities plus other specialized locations throughout the northeast including in nearby New York State, southern New Jersey, the midwest in the Kansas City region and right here in New England, centrally located in the Ocean State, including two in Providence (Bannister Center & Park View Center), one in Pawtucket (Oak Hill Center) and the other in West Kingston (Kingston Center).

"This was such a beautiful outing!" said Melanie McWhite, the company's Divisional President in Rhode Island. "We all came in six buses and many cars just to spend time with our families and fellow staff members. Thank you Centers Health Care."

Over 500 purple Centers health care t-shirts were seen in every part of the park. For lunch, the company had lunch for everyone and then it was back to the rides. Centers Health Care plans to have at least one more Family Fun Day for their facilities this year, this time Western New York State at the Six Flags location near Rochester.
