The recommendations emphasize public safety, signature cultural experiences, and putting local venues and artists back at the center of Albany's evening scene.

City of Albany highlights youth violence prevention effort (spectrumlocalnews.com) — Albany officials are expanding a focused strategy to prevent youth violence as students head back to school, combining police, Trinity Alliance, and community partners. Through face-to-face "custom notifications," families are offered support like schooling help, jobs, and mental health services while being warned that gun violence will not be tolerated.
   

3. Fugitive wanted for murder in Albany, NY (newportdispatch.com) — Albany residents are being urged to help locate 19-year-old Jacqua Cowan, wanted on murder, conspiracy, and weapons charges in connection with a March shooting on Boenau Street. U.S. Marshals say he is armed and dangerous, has strong ties to Albany and Jersey City, and are offering up to $10,000 for tips leading to his arrest.
   

4. Tour de Valor: 200+mile bicycle journey for vets Oct. 23-24 (oneidadispatch.com) — A new 200-plus-mile Tour de Valor bike ride will set off Oct. 23–24 from the Albany County Veterans Service Bureau, raising awareness for veterans' mental health and peer support statewide. The continuous 22-hour journey to Long Island honors PFC Joseph Dwyer and spotlights local and state programs that connect Capital Region veterans, families, and caregivers with help and hope.
   

5. Family-owned manufacturing company receives $900K grant for Menands campus (news10.com) — Albany County is backing a major expansion at NSH USA's Menands campus with a $908,000 STAGE grant, supporting a $12 million project and 137 skilled manufacturing jobs. The new 18,000-square-foot facility will boost rail and advanced manufacturing work while adding energy-efficient, clean-technology features that strengthen the Capital Region's industrial base.
