Millions from NY will go to replace lead pipes in Capital Region (wnyt.com) โ Albany's Municipal Water Finance Authority is receiving more than $4.2 million from New York's new LIFT grants to help replace lead service lines without overburdening ratepayers. The funding is part of over $130 million statewide, with nearby cities like Troy, Glens Falls, and Watervliet also benefiting from investments to protect drinking water in older neighborhoods.

Law enforcement officials visit criminal justice students at Capital Region BOCES (saratogian.com) โ Criminal justice students at Capital Region BOCES' Albany Campus got a taste of law-enforcement boot camp, guided by New York State Police troopers and New York Army National Guard members. About 100 students practiced fitness drills, marching, and discipline, gaining insight into physical expectations and advantages of the two-year program for future law-enforcement careers.

Monmouth Gets Redemption, Beats UAlbany 28-20 In Upstate New York (flofootball.com) โ UAlbany's football team fell 28-20 to Monmouth on Saturday at Bob Ford Field at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium in Albany, snapping the Great Danes' home dominance in the series. Despite a late rally and strong passing numbers, early turnovers and a missed extra point proved costly in this key CAA matchup.

DEC launches annual Arbor Day Poster contest (news10.com) โ Albany residents can now submit artwork or photos for New York's annual Arbor Day Poster contest, celebrating this year's theme, "Trees for Vibrant Communities."
