• NYSERDA Announces Awards for New Energy Storage Projects, Large-Scale Renewable Energy Projects (publicpower.org) — A new bulk energy storage project called Zenobe Burns is planned for Allegany County, bringing part of 1.7 gigawatts of new clean energy resources to Western New York. The state-backed project, expected online by 2030, must meet strict new safety codes and is part of a broader push to expand renewable power and grid reliability across New York.
• Ronald W. Salmonson, 82, Wellsville • The KEUKA SUN (keukasun.com) — Family and friends in Allegany and across Allegany County are mourning 82-year-old Ronald W. Salmonson, a Navy veteran and longtime Wellsville postal worker remembered for his devotion to family, community service, and love of local sports and outdoor activities. A memorial service in Andover will be announced later, and the family suggests donations to a Wellsville 4-H club or Allegany County Cancer Services in his honor.
