Learn how to exercise safely with osteoporosis and osteopenia while building strength, balance, and mobility in this three-part workshop series.
Each session includes expert guidance on bone health, osteoporosis care, balance, strengthening, and nutrition, followed by a movement class led by a master Pilates and yoga instructor. Participants will leave with practical tools to support bone health and overall well-being in a supportive environment.

About the Authors

She’s written about everything from relationships to midlife adventures, personal finance to power dynamics, for publications like the New York Times, New York Magazine, Refinery29, Fast Company, Marketwatch, and many others. As part of her own mid-life plot twist, she will soon be certified as a sex educator and coach through the Sexual Health Alliance.
Gabrielle Moss is the author of Paperback Crush: The Totally Radical History of '80s and '90s Teen Fiction. Her work has appeared in the New Yorker, GQ, Slate, the Daily Beast, RogerEbert.com and Refinery29. She has appeared on NPR, the CBC, and Canadian national morning TV show The Social, and was a talking head in the 2023 documentary Judy Blume Forever.

The entire neighborhood will be turned into an arts experience at KEW GARDENS COMMUNITY ARTS DAY 2026 on Saturday, September 19 (rain date September 27), noon to 5:00pm. This will be the 12th year of the Outdoor Art Fair, a very well attended event and the day promises to be a big celebration of the arts with a small-town feel. Expect an eclectic mix of artwork created by talented Queens artists including demonstrations of many of the art forms. As always, the art sales will be located on Austin Street and cohosted for the 3nd year by Austin’s Ale House on their back patio. Relax in Kew Gardens Cinemas Park while listening to four hours of talented local musicians playing a popular mix of music genres. There will be many experiences for children and adults to enjoy at the Arts Zone (“A Great Place to Create”), at the Sidewalk Chalk Art Festival (transform NYC concrete into intricate, wild works of art), learn about and meet some Reptiles at the Alley Pond Park Environmental Center’s table (noon-1:30), leave a message on the Wishes for the World Tree, be sure to stop by the public service organization tables, enjoy offerings by Kew Gardens businesses, AND expect LOTS AND LOTS of surprises and much much more!

 The 3rd Annual Step Up for Fashion on Madison Avenue returns on Saturday, September 19, presented by the Madison Avenue Business Improvement District (B.I.D.) in partnership with the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), benefiting the CFDA Scholarship Fund, The day-long initiative brings together CFDA members, over 50 leading American and international fashion brands, retailers, students, and the Madison Avenue community for a celebration of fashion, creativity, and philanthropy. Step Up for Fashion will once again serve as the centerpiece of Welcome Back Saturday, the Avenue’s annual celebration of the fall season and the exceptional fashion, jewelry, accessories, and boutiques spanning from East 57th to East 86th Streets as well as adjacent side streets. At the heart of this year’s program is the CFDA Scholarship Fund and the emerging designers it supports. Throughout Madison Avenue, participating retailers will spotlight CFDA Scholarship recipients through in-store displays featuring their sketches and designs, as well as select meet-and-greet appearances by the students.
