The USATF-certified course begins and ends at the corner of 47th Avenue and 29th Street in Long Island City, at the entrance to the LaGuardia Community Greenway, a pedestrian-only block known as LaGuardia Community College Way and home to New York City's largest street mural, designed by Fernanda Contreras (LaGuardia’26, Fine Arts). Participants will run to the Long Island City waterfront and back.
Registration is $28.63 for adults and $13.10 for students and children. Pricing includes processing fees. Early registration is encouraged.
Racers can join a team or create a team on the registration page.
An Activities Plaza adjacent to the Greenway will feature music, raffles, and information tables hosted by local businesses, sponsors, and College departments. Organizations hosting tables include Planned Parenthood of Greater New York, Ridgewood Savings Bank, LiveOnNY, Primerica, and CampusMesh.
Participants will receive a race T-shirt, while supplies last, and an electronic finisher certificate with their photo and race time.

The event raises funds for the college’s Office of Immigrant Student Empowerment, which supports immigrant and immigration-impacted students through individualized guidance, advocacy, referrals, leadership development opportunities, and community-building programs.
“The LaGuardia Community Run/Walk has become a wonderful tradition that brings together students, alumni, employees, neighbors, and friends in support of an important cause,” said President Kenneth Adams. “As we celebrate the event’s fifth year, we’re proud to strengthen community connections while raising support for immigrant students.”
The race’s principal sponsor is Boyce Technologies, Inc., a Long Island City-based company whose CEO, Charles Boyce, serves as Chair of the LaGuardia Community College Foundation Board of Directors.
The LaGuardia Community College Select Vocal Ensemble will perform the national anthem at the race under the direction of Professor Lisa DeSpain.
