LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS — A British company plans to transform a Long Island City hotel into a co-living building and cultural hub.

The Collective, a British company that creates co-living spaces, has bought Long Island City's Paper Factory Hotel and will turn it into a communal living building.

Rooms will be available for a single night up to a few weeks and will include utilities, Wi-Fi, linen change and concierge services. The building's ground floor and basement will become public event spaces hosting an events program. The company will later up the number of bedrooms in the building from 125, the hotel's current number, to more than 225.
