Mr Othman Goes to Washington

I recently noticed that comic Moe Othman's friends, enemies and fans are still asking what happened concerning his meeting with Donald Trump. Here's the tea. Okay, sorry for the tease, but not really.

Several months ago, Moe (who, in addition to his superb comedy skits, has made more serious commentaries on newsworthy items) received a Twitter tweet from Trump saying he wanted a word with him, to which he affirmed after investigating and being satisfied that he was, indeed, hearing from Trump and not one of those delightfully funny parody accounts.

According to what Moe posted in a You Tube video, his manager took it from there. After speaking to a Trump representative, she confirmed that a meeting had been scheduled for Moe on a certain date which, for many viewers, seems to have come and gone.

Here's my spin on my friend Moe's story as far as I can tell.

Moe never knew, for certain, if he had been contacted by Trump or a member of his staff. In fact he thinks it was, most likely, a staff member.

The scheduled meeting is all speculation. Moe's manager only said he had an upcoming meeting. Not necessarily with Trump himself or even at the White House.

So that's all there is to know for now. Not what you wanted but, no big deal. Maybe Trump wanted Moe's autograph or some of his be merch!
