Woman Struck Dead By Train At Astoria Subway Station, MTA Says

A Manhattan-bound N train fatally struck a woman as it pulled into 30th Ave. station, authorities say.

ASTORIA, QUEENS — A woman has died after being struck by a train in Astoria on Thursday.

A Manhattan-bound N train struck the woman as it pulled into the 30th Ave. subway station in Astoria just after 2 p.m. Thursday, the MTA said.

Emergency responders rushed the woman in critical condition to Mt. Sinai Queens, where she was pronounced dead, the NYPD said. The woman appeared to be in her 60s, according to the NYPD.

Police said the woman walked into the train as it arrived at the station and the impact knocked her back on to the platform.

N trains are running in both directions but with extensive delays, according to the MTA.
