Queens DA Candidates Will Talk Policy At Tuesday Forum
Social and criminal justice groups are hosting a Long Island City forum with Queens DA candidates, up for election June 25.
LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS — Seven candidates for Queens District Attorney will detail their policy positions at a forum Tuesday in Long Island City.
All announced candidates have confirmed their attendance, according to an event spokesperson. The candidates are Tiffany Cabán, Melinda Katz, Rory Lancman, Greg Lasak, Betty Lugo, Mina Malik and Jose Nieves.
Zephyr Teachout, a Fordham law professor and former candidate for New York attorney general, and Gotham Gazette editor Ben Max are moderating the discussion.

The forum is hosted by grassroots coalition Queens for DA Accountability, which aims to transform the criminal legal system by pushing for decarceration and other reforms.
Coalition members co-sponsoring the forum are Bronx Freedom Fund, Center for Popular Democracy, Color of Change, Court Watch NYC, Decrim NY, DSA-Queens, Five Boro Defenders, Justice Committee, JustLeadership USA, Immigrant Defense Project, Make the Road NY, New Queens Democrats, Neighbors Against White Supremacy, Queens United Independent Progressives, Rockaway Youth Task Force, Survived & Punished and VOCAL-NY.

The forum is Tuesday, March 12, at 6 p.m. at CUNY Law School, located at 2 Court Square in Long Island City.
