Woodside Cop Shooting Update: Police Seek Man For Questioning

Police released video Wednesday of a man who may be connected to the shooting of an off-duty cop outside a Woodside nightclub.

WOODSIDE, QUEENS —Police hope to identify a man connected to the violent mugging of an off-duty cop that left the officer seriously injured and another man dead.

Police Wednesday released video of a man they say is connected to the shoot-out on the corner of 57th Street and Northern Boulevard on Dec. 16 shortly after 3:10 a.m., records show.

The officer left nearby La Boom nightclub to find himself surrounded by several armed people, suspected to be robbers, according to Police Commissioner Dermot Shea.

Bullets flew as the cop fired about eight rounds and the suspect robbers shot nine times, according to police.

The cop was taken to Elmhurst Hospital with serious injuries and another man died of his wounds, according to police.

Cristian Cruz, 19, of Topping Avenue in The Bronx, has been arrested in connection with the shooting, police said.
