Police ID Woman Killed In Long Island House Fire

WEST BABYLON, NY — A woman who was killed after a house fire in West Babylon on Wednesday night has been identified, Suffolk County Police said.

Ursel Bauer, 82, was found deceased after her Van Buren Street home went aflame, police said.

First Precinct officers responded to reports of a fire at the residence at about 9 p.m., police said. Bauer was found after firefighters extinguished the flames, police said.

A preliminary investigation has determined the cause of the fire to be non-criminal in nature, police said.
