83-Year-Old Man Killed In Crash Involving Suffolk County Bus: PD

The crash occurred Tuesday morning.

BABYLON, NY - An 83-year-old man was killed after a crash involving a Suffolk County Transit bus in Babylon on Tuesday morning, according to Suffolk Police.

John Gordon, of North Babylon was driving a 2005 Honda Accord in the parking lot at 1 John Street when he drove the car over the curb and into the westbound lanes of John Street, police said.

A westbound Suffolk County Transit bus struck the car at 11:10 a.m.

Gordon was extricated from the car by members of the Babylon Fire Department and transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where he was pronounced dead.

Neither the driver of the bus, 47-year-old Roberto Montenegro, of Copiague, or any of the passengers were injured in the crash.
