All Babylon-Area Public Schools Closed Until Nov. 5th
All Babylon-area schools in the Village, North and West Babylon are closed until Monday.

All Babylon-area Public School districts have announced they will not reopen their schools until Monday, November 5th at the earliest due to the effects of Hurricane Sandy.
The Babylon, North Babylon and West Babylon School Districts also announced all events, activities and athletic practices were cancelled until Monday.
West Babylon Schools announced their closure earlier today with an announcement on their official Facebook page and school district website.

"For the safety of our students and staff, all schools will be closed until Monday, November 5th," read the Facebook message. "Our school buildings are undamaged but most do not have electricity. Stay safe."
Babylon Schools similarly announced their closure via email messages and a website posting.

"On behalf of Babylon's Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Richard Rozakis, this is Carole Polney-Marinello, informing you that all Babylon Schools will remain closed for Thursday, November 1st and Friday, November 2nd due to the continued effects of the storm. We will communicate over the weekend with an update regarding next week," read the Babylon Schools email.
North Babylon Schools are also closed through next Monday at the very least.
There was no word at this time whether the closures would effect sporting events, including all three high schools' football playoff games.
