West Babylon Junior Earns $160K Scholarship For Math, Science Excellence

The Rensselaer Medal recognizes outstanding high school juniors who excel in mathematics and science.

WEST BABYLON, NY — West Babylon Senior High School junior Addison Eglin has been named a recipient of the Rensselaer Medal, a prestigious scholarship awarded by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

The award is given to outstanding high school juniors who have distinguished themselves in mathematics and science. The scholarship is worth $40,000 per year, for a total of $160,000 over four years. Bachelor of Architecture students may receive the award for five years.

Eglin, a National Merit Commended Student, was selected for the scholarship based on recommendations from her school counselor and administrators.

She will also serve as the ex-officio student member of the West Babylon Board of Education beginning in July.
