BABYLON, NY — Families looking for a literacy-focused summer outing can meet Long Island children’s author Christina Testut at Jack Jack’s Coffee House in Babylon on Friday.
Testut will appear from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on July 3, at the coffee house, located at 223 Deer Park Ave., for a Meet the Author event featuring her children’s book, Embrace Your Features.
The book encourages young readers to celebrate what makes them unique, with messages centered on self-confidence, self-acceptance and the value of their special features.
Testut, a Long Island teacher and author, describes herself as a longtime advocate for social-emotional learning. Her website says she has been a New York City public school teacher for more than 20 years and is passionate about helping children build confidence and self-esteem.
