BABYLON, NY — Two Babylon schools have been named 2025-27 National PTA Schools of Excellence, recognizing their efforts to strengthen partnerships between families and schools.
Babylon Elementary School and Babylon Memorial Grade School received the two-year designation through the National PTA School of Excellence program, the Babylon Union Free School District announced.
The recognition honors the Babylon K-6 PTA and the schools for their work to build family-school partnerships aimed at supporting student success.
To earn the designation, participating schools and PTAs complete a yearlong process based on the National Standards for Family-School Partnerships. The process includes gathering feedback from the school community, developing an action plan based on the results and measuring the impact of those efforts.
According to the district, 330 schools nationwide received the designation for the 2025-27 cycle, including 32 in New York. Of those, 21 are on Long Island and 10 are in Suffolk County.
"This recognition is a testament to the strength of our Babylon community," Babylon K-6 PTA President Anca Radoi said. "We pride ourselves on creating an inclusive environment where every family feels welcome, and our schools are just one place where that commitment comes to life. We are grateful for the hard work of our PTA and the robust partnerships we've built, and we encourage more community members to join us in supporting our students."
As Schools of Excellence, Babylon Elementary and Babylon Memorial Grade School will each receive a banner and certificate recognizing the achievement.
