BABYLON, NY — A longtime Babylon Village restaurant said Wednesday that it will close indefinitely after a fire broke out early that morning.
Tricia's American Cafe, located at 26 E. Main St., shared the news on social media on Oct. 28, along with photos showing fire trucks outside the restaurant and its interior.
The cause of the fire, extent of the damage and whether anyone was injured were not immediately known. The restaurant did not announce a potential reopening date.
Established in 1997, Tricia's has been a fixture in Babylon Village for nearly three decades.
The family-owned restaurant, operated by Tricia, Dave and their sons, is known for its burgers, wings, wraps, seafood dishes and 1950s-inspired atmosphere, according to its website.
The restaurant's announcement prompted an outpouring of support from customers and members of the community.
The restaurant said it would provide updates as more information becomes available.
