Babylon Adoptable Pet Of The Week: Sandy
Sandy is Babylon Animal Shelter's longest resident, living at the facility since 2019. Could you give her the home she's been waiting for?

BABYLON, NY — Sandy, a 5-year-old tan pit-bull terrier, is Babylon Animal Shelter's Pet Of The Week.
Sandy arrived to Babylon Animal Shelter in August 2019 at 3 years old, making her the longest resident there. The brown-eyed beauty even holds her own Facebook page, Sandy Needs A Family.
"Sandy frequently ran loose in her neighborhood and spent much of her time outside," a volunteer writes. "She can be nervous with new people, and at times there are people that she just doesn't want to become friends with."

On the flip side, "those that Sandy bonds with, are friends for life," a volunteer writes.
"Sandy really needs someone who understands this and can help her learn to trust, and yet also understand that pushing her to make friends is not in her best interest, either."

Sandy needs a low-traffic home, and likely will need to be crated or put out of sight when people come over. She also needs a home with no other pets and a secured, fenced yard, the shelter said.
A rescue is willing to help, so fostering to adopt is an option. Sandy's adoption comes with 3 months of paid training from her shelter friends to help her transition and be the best that she can be.
