Babylon DECA Students Visit New York Stock Exchange
Educational Visit Highlights Career in Financial Sector
Students in Babylon Junior-Senior High School’s DECA Club recently toured the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). This educational trip introduced the students to the finance industry.
Students had the opportunity to witness the opening bell at the exchange, which signifies the commencement of trading for the day. The students also had the opportunity to learn from an experienced trader, who taught the DECA students about the trading business, the history of the NYSE, and the skills necessary to succeed in the finance world. After the tour, the students visited the iconic bull statue outside the building.
The 27 DECA students that attended the trip were winners in the DECA Suffolk County competition this fall. DECA is an international service organization that helps prepare students for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and entrepreneurship.
