BABYLON, NY — A dog at the Babylon Animal Shelter is marking an unfortunate milestone on Wednesday.
Ace, a five-year-old chestnut, pit bull terrier mix and the shelter's Pet Of the Week, passes his one-year anniversary without a home. He arrived at the shelter on May 10, 2021.
Volunteers write that Ace is a "volunteer favorite as he is a gentleman and knows his commands."

He can be a bit aloof, the shelter said, but he does warm up after time spent making new friends.
"Ace loves to run and stretch out his legs, yet he also loves to sit and hang out for love," a volunteer wrote. "Ace is a very handsome guy who would love to prove himself as a new best friend."
