Babylon Elementary Students Welcome Veterans

U.S. military veterans, district administration and parents of students alike all watched in awe as they performed for the crowded gymnasium

Babylon Elementary School recently hosted a music-filled “Patriotic Sing Along” in order to showcase the love and respect that both the students and community residents harbor toward those who have served the country.

Led by Babylon Elementary School music teacher Ed Storey, students from kindergarten to second grade were asked to join together and sing their hearts out to patriotic anthems as Mr. Storey exuberantly accompanied them on his guitar. U.S. military veterans, district administration and parents of students alike all watched in awe as they performed for the crowded gymnasium audience.

Additionally, with the assistance of Babylon Elementary School art teacher Stacey Famiglietti, students transformed the lobby into a “Hall of Heroes,” filled with decorative banners listing the names of family members who served. They also thanked the service members for their contributions to America’s freedom.
