Ryan Polletta to Commission as Marine Officer After Collegiate Leadership Training

Babylon Junior-Senior High School senior Ryan Polletta has been awarded a highly competitive Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) scholarship worth $180,000. The scholarship recognizes Polletta’s outstanding academic achievements, leadership qualities, and commitment to serving his country.

The NROTC program provides full tuition coverage, stipends for books and living expenses, and leadership training at select colleges nationwide. Upon graduation, Polletta will commission as an officer in the Marine Corps.

“Ryan exemplifies of the dedication and leadership qualities we love to see in our students,” said Principal Al Cirone. “This scholarship is a testament to his hard work, and we look forward to seeing the impact he will make in his military career.”

The comprehensive NROTC scholarship selection process evaluates candidates on multiple dimensions of excellence. Applicants must demonstrate strong academic marks, active participation in extracurricular and athletic programs, and a commitment to community service. Additionally, candidates must successfully complete a physical fitness assessment and perform well through multiple rounds of interviews before final selection.
