Babylon JSHS Girls Varsity Soccer Team Recognized for Successes

The team recently finished up an incredibly successful season.

From Babylon School District: The Babylon Junior-Senior High School girls varsity team recently finished up an incredibly successful season, acquiring a number of awards and accolades not only for their athletic prowess, but for their dedication to academics as well.

Throughout the duration of the fall season, the team was named Section XI Class B Champions, Long Island Class B Champions, a New York State Academic Team of Distinction and received the League VII Sportsmanship Award, to name a few. The team also garnished an impressive overall team GPA of 99.959, proving that they are just as committed to their studies as they are on the soccer field.

Additionally, multiple student-athletes on the team were presented with individual-based awards for their successes both on the field and in the classroom.

On Jan. 9, several Babylon Village representatives visited the team in Babylon Junior-Senior High School’s Rowe Hall to present them with tokens of appreciation, and offer their personal congratulations. Babylon Mayor Ralph Scordino, Deputy Mayor Kevin Muldowney, Babylon Town Supervisor Rich Schaffer and Deputy Supervisor Tony Martinez attended the ceremony.
