Babylon Memorial Grade School Celebrates C.A.R.E.S. Initiative

Yearlong, Social-Emotional Learning Project Promotes Collaboration, Emotional Maturity

Babylon Memorial Grade School staff and students were recently honored by the Babylon Board of Education for their hard work on the school’s successful C.A.R.E.S. initiative. C.A.R.E.S., which stands for community, accountability, respect, effort, and self-control is a schoolwide social-emotional learning project.

Through assemblies and various collaborations during the 2023-2024 school year, BMGS focused on the importance of each word within C.A.R.E.S., and the different ways they can demonstrate community, accountability, respect, effort, and self-control. Through this initiative, the entire BMGS student body was able to work on their emotional maturity together as a group. C.A.R.E.S. was spearheaded and planned by the school’s SEL Committee.
