The Babylon chapter of the National Honor Society recently held its induction ceremony, welcoming 48 new members. The event was led by the chapter’s Executive Board, who expounded on the National Honor Society’s four, core pillars: scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

The National Honor Society recognizes students for their talents, and challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service. Through a series of speeches, members of the Executive Board sought to inspire the new members to take an active role in both the National Honor Society and the larger Babylon community. The current executive board members are President Emilio Cardillo-Schrader; Vice President Kate Schmitt; Secretary Jamisyn Cerny; Treasurer Riley Altman; and publicity team members Devin Merrigan, and Talulah Bishop.

“Congratulations to our new National Honor Society members,” said Babylon Junior-Senior High School Principal Al Cirone. “They join an important and prestigious part of our high school community, and we look forward to seeing them grow through their membership.”
