BABYLON, NY — Diamond, a four-year-old pit bill terrier mix, is Babylon Animal Shelter's Pet Of The Week.

This sweet girl came to the shelter on Feb. 4 as an owner surrender when her owner was no longer able to keep her, volunteers said.

"Diamond presents as a bit aloof, but with time spent together, she warms up and acclimates to new friends," the shelter said.

She's the type of dog who loves "soaking up the love" in walks and in quiet time.

"Diamond would love a new home where she will be given time and patience to adjust to her new settings and the new people in her life. Once Diamond has bonded, she is incredibly dedicated to you."

Diamond also prefers to be the only "queen pup of her castle."
