Babylon Rallies Around 7th Grader Battling Leukemia
More than 150 people joined the fundraiser.

BABYLON, NY — Babylon Junior-Senior High School seniors teamed up with a local nonprofit to support a younger classmate battling leukemia.
Members of the Class of 2027 partnered with Babylon Strong to host a Color Run fundraiser for Luciano, a seventh grader at the school, according to the Babylon Union Free School District.

More than 150 people took part in the event. Commemorative T-shirts were created for the fundraiser, but quickly became covered in colorful powder as runners made their way through the course.

Luciano’s mother attended the event, along with representatives from Babylon Strong, the mayor, teachers and student volunteers, the district said.
All proceeds from the run were donated through Babylon Strong directly to Luciano and his family to help with ongoing needs.
