Babylon Residents Approve School Budget

Babylon residents headed to the polls Tuesday to vote on a school budget and elect board members.

BABYLON, NY - Babylon residents approved the district's $54,850,656 proposed budget on Tuesday by a margin of 508 to 187.

The budget represents a 3.42 percent spending increase over the current year and a tax levy increase of 2.13 percent.

In the vote for Babylon Board of Education members, both incumbent Elizabeth O'Brien and Donna Noesi ran unopposed for the two open seats. Dominic Bencivenga did not seek re-election.

O'Brien received 564 and Noesi received 523 votes.
