Babylon School Budget Vote, Trustee Election Results Are In

Babylon residents headed to the polls Tuesday.

Voters in the Babylon School District easily approved a 2016-17 school budget on Tuesday.

The $50.17 million budget was approved by a margin of 1,046-288. The budget is a 1.92 percent spending increase over the current year and it comes with a 1.37 percent hike in the school tax levy.

Dominic Bencivenga and Elizabeth Altbacker won seats on the Babylon Board of Education.
