Babylon School District Appoints New Assistant Superintendent

The district announced Sunday that Travis Davey will serve as assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction.

BABYLON, NY — The Babylon School District has new assistant superintendent.

The district announced on Sunday that Travis Davey will serve in the administrative position for curriculum and instruction. According to a press release, Davey began transitioning into the role this summer, but was officially appointed on October 18.

Since 2016, Davey has served as the principal of Babylon Elementary School. Prior to that, he was principal at Bellport Middle School and Brookhaven Elementary School, located in the South Country School District.

Davey holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology, a Master of Arts in elementary education, and a Master of Arts in educational administration, all from The University of Notre Dame. He also holds certifications in New York State in school building leadership and school district leadership.

“I look forward to working in this new capacity with the administration, staff, students, and families here in Babylon,” said Davey. “I feel extremely fortunate to be part of a district that collaborates and supports one another in the way that we do here to provide the best opportunities for our students. I am excited about the work ahead and look forward to celebrating the successes of our students as a whole community.”
