Babylon Student Artists Featured in State Exhibit
Artwork Put on Display at Annual NYS School Board Convention
Six Babylon student artists had their artwork on display recently at the New York State School Board Association’s (NYSSBA) annual convention. The exhibit, sponsored by the New York State Art Teachers Association (NYSATA), featured student works from across the state.
The students whose artwork was featured in this statewide exhibit were Christian Lister, Thao Phan, Carissa Arena, Madison DeSena, Jake Brunet and Keira Kolakowski and their art teachers are Patricia Stork and Cheryl Schweider. For this special honor, the Babylon Board of Education recognized the students at a November 13th meeting.
“The members of the Board of Education and I were pleased to dedicate a portion of the November 13th Board Meeting to showcase the outstanding works of our talented student artists for our community to enjoy,” said Superintendent of Schools Carisa Manza. “The recognition is well deserved, and I am confident that all who had the opportunity to view the artwork were as impressed as we were by our students’ ability and creativity.”
