Babylon Student-Musicians Selected For 2017 Festivals

BABYLON VILLAGE, NY - From Babylon School District via Syntax: Based on their musical talents and academic successes, seven Babylon Junior-Senior High School students have been recognized as premier musicians and were invited to participate in this year’s New York State School Music Association All-State and All-County music festivals.

Sydney Altbacker (Treble Choir) and Peter Schubart (Cello) have been named All-State student-musicians and were invited to participate in the 2017 NYSSMA All-State Conference to be held in Rochester, New York from Nov. 30-Dec. 3.

Additionally, students Sydney Altbacker (French Horn/Orchestra), Aubrey Alvino (Saxophone/Band), Rachel Gordon (Treble Choir), Ryan Marrone (Mixed Chorus), Keira Pitagno (Treble Choir), Peter Schubart (Cello) and Sophia Sherman (Mixed Chorus) were named All-County student-musicians and will perform at Hauppauge High School on Friday, Nov. 17, at 7:30 p.m. alongside other selected musicians.
